Spring break and the aftermath thereof.

I've now had two spring breaks in one year -- one in March and one in August and September. Hemisphere switches are funny.

I spent the second one with three friends, touring up the west coast of the South Island. It was a good deal of fun; I came out of it grimy, exhausted, and feeling accomplished. There was (in no particular order) glacier hiking, innumerable bus rides, coastal rainforest, lots of hostels, a few thorough soakings, sunburn and salt spray, kayaking, estuaries, really cheap pasta, wacky root- and stem-less ferns, geeking out all over a poor harassed math major, a floating hostel, sore arms, postcards, and flowers. Suffice to say I had a good time. I've written about a lot of it; it just needs to be posted here.

Unfortunately, the other shoe dropped as soon as I got home... I have three essays due on Thursday. Please accept my apologies -- there won't be any posting until I've turned them in. As a matter of fact, anyone who catches me posting before Thursday (my time) has my express advance permission to berate me til I get back to work.
